Your Tour Guide

Your tour guide is a thirty-something Asian American who was born in Seoul, grew up in Chicago, and now lives in New York City with his wonderful partner.
He’s always been drawn to travel—not just the places, but the feeling of movement, discovery, and the quiet moments in between. He travels alone, with friends, and with his partner. And each version has taught him something new.
He’s learned that two weeks into a solo trip, homesickness arrives. That he enjoys a little structure, but not a rigid schedule. And on group trips, he knows the exact moment when he needs to step away and recharge. Travel has become a mirror—reflecting not just the world, but who he is within it.
But this blog isn’t about travel tips or destination guides. You won’t find top 10 lists or restaurant recommendations here.
Instead, he’s focused on what most travelers overlook: what happens behind the scenes. The systems, tools, and decisions that shape how travel works—who gets to go where, how tickets are priced, why some experiences feel seamless and others don’t.
Why does he know all this? Because it’s his day job. He works behind the curtain, helping shape and power the infrastructure of the travel industry.
This blog is his side project—a space where he not only pulls back the curtain on how the travel industry works, but also lets his creativity breathe. It’s where curiosity meets craft, and where he can share stories, insights, and reflections that don’t always fit neatly into a spreadsheet or strategy deck.
